A new era of leadership at Briteweb
Five years ago, Jill joined the Briteweb team with excitement, curiosity, and a penchant for project management. She quickly demonstrated her knack for leadership and operational efficiency, moving into the roles of Director of Delivery, Director of Operations, Deputy Managing Director before becoming Managing Director in 2022. And after careful consideration, Jill made the decision to move forward in becoming the next owner of Briteweb.
If you’ve met Jill, you know she leads with empathy, generosity and kindness, and pushes her team to do the same. For how knowledgeable, experienced and accomplished she is, Jill always shows up wanting to learn more. It’s a rare quality to have in a leader, and it’s undoubtedly part of what makes Briteweb the impactful agency that it is.
“I try to paint a vision of where we want to go, and motivate the team to move in that direction with me. I want my team to actively participate, to have a hand in creating the path, and have fun along the way.”
Jill leads with her heart, but with a charmingly practical approach. When asked what one food she’d eat for the rest of her life, she said french fries. Not just any fries, though. Jill wants them fried in avocado oil and made with non-GMO potatoes. This is just one (arguably irrelevant, yet very telling) example of her balanced leadership style.
It might not surprise you, following the potato comment, to learn that Jill studied nutrition “for fun”. Food and laughter have always been the way to her heart, and same with traveling. Next time you’re chatting with Jill, ask her about the best food she’s had from the 14 countries she’s traveled to.
After the birth of her first child, Sofia, Jill’s favorite job in the world quickly shifted to being a mom. If she was going to re-enter the working world, it had to be in a role where she could contribute to creating something good. “If I couldn’t be at home every day with my daughter, then I had to make sure the work I was doing was just as important…. Life is too short to just have a job.”
Although deserving of it, Jill never seeks out the spotlight. Instead, she strives to uplift everyone around her – which is the very foundation of what we do at Briteweb. It’s what makes her stand out as a leader, colleague, friend, and mom.
While this change in ownership signifies an exciting new chapter for Briteweb, what won’t change is our dedication to our clients and to doing good in the world. Our values remain the same, and Jill only embodies them even further.
(For the record, the thought of having a blog post written about her, and having her face splashed all over our website and socials is something that makes Jill cringe a little bit. But this is too monumental of a change to not share with the world — and let’s face it, she deserves to be bragged about a little.)
We are so grateful to have Jill at the wheel, and we know the best is yet to come.
